1941 Leutert was founded in Hamburg, Germany by Friedrich Leutert, a watchmaker by trade, and a gifted engineer. Most of the early products for the vibrant oil and gas industry in Europe were designed by him. Friedrich quickly established the company as a major provider of dynamometers and fluid level instruments for artificial lift systems, and other oil field instruments. These products help to optimize production and allow producing profitably from mature fields.
His son, Hartwig Leutert, joined the company in 1971 and initiated a rapid expansion program establishing offices and agencies in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. By the early 1980s, satisfied customers in all oil and gas producing countries were using the LEUTERT Dynamometer DYN 77.
Well weighing and optimizing oil production with this horseshoe dynamometer with integrated hydraulic pump became a matter of minutes. Its working principle is the best, because it can be attached quickly without interrupting the pumping process while measuring the load directly.
Later well sounders were developed to accurately find the fluid level in producing oil and gas wells. Permanent pressure gauges and sand samplers were added to the portfolio. As a consequence of permanent growth Sebastian Leutert, grandson of the founder established the company sonoecho™. Based on LEUTERT´s past performance sonoecho™ will continue to introduce new and improved products and services to our customers as a strong member of the LEUTERT group.
